New coach Gardner opens with Clan SO win

New Braehead Clan coach Paul Gardner followed in the footsteps of Bruce Richardson, Drew Bannister and Jordan Krestanovich by registering a win in his first match, this time v Hull Stingrays.

Whilst the score was just 1-1 after regulation and OT, the match was intense and exciting with both goalies saving 28 of 29 shots each. Brilliant stuff with Clan edging the 2 points after the penalty shoot out.

The whole team dynamic was different and more positive with Gardner being heavily involved on the bench, encouraging each line in turn, very good to see! All this after only training session too, things are looking brighter at Braehead Clan all of a sudden. They played a positive game with a sense of freedom not seen this season so far and semed to enjoy a more physical game  too which augurs well for the future.

Oh….and let’s not forget Daren Machesney who looked the finished article tonight with some great saves!!

I had forgotten how good a home win makes you feel ( last was december 5th) and I want more!!

Well done Braehead Clan, back to winning ways!!!
